Delmont Private Hospital is looking for suitable candidates to apply for Psychiatry Registrar positions in the areas of:

  • General Adult Psychiatry
  • General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine
  • General Adult Psychiatry and Day Programs
  • General Adult Psychiatry and Aged Psychiatry

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to experience working in a Private Mental Health service, gaining extensive practical knowledge andskill development via the support of Accredited Supervisiors.

Delmont Private Hospital is an accredited 88 bed private psychiatric Hospital providing a full range of psychiatric services to voluntary adult and aged patients.  As part of the Hospital’s service structure, we have an extensive Inpatient Program, Day Programs, Community Outreach Services and an integrated Consulting Suite, providing patients with continuity of care both during and after hospitalisation.


Selection Criteria

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners and registered in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) training program. Stage Three or Advanced Certificate trainees are preferred, however Stage Two Trainees may be considered.

You must have satisfactorily completed the Multiple-Choice Examination as well as the mandatory Consultation-Liaison rotation. You must have demonstrated effective communication skills which support your ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Appointments are accredited by the RANZCP. The term for the contract is for six-months, with the potential for this to be extended to a 12-month contract.

Delmont Hospital is aligned with Eastern Health to provide trainees with support; the successful applicant will have access to the Eastern Health Academic Program and related examination preparation supports within the Victorian Northern training region.

The start date is negotiable dependant upon the position applied for, with an opportunity to start in August 2019 or Feb 2020 and August 2020.
