Creative Arts Therapy emphasises the importance of having a relationship with the visual and sensory world. Being in creative mode allows a person to be in the present moment, preventing the mind from thinking about the past or worrying about the future. A person may be fully alert, aware of the environment and the feelings that arise and subside. They do not need to be distracted by thoughts and can focus on the creative task.
