The focus of this program is to understand and manage the symptoms of depression in a supportive environment.
The programs include education on mood disorders, possible causes and identifying early warning signs. The group assists people in developing skills to manage stress and disruptive thoughts.
Groups are conducted periodically and are subject to change. The following may be suitable for Depression/and or Bipolar:
BIPOLAR: the group focus is on assisting people to reconnect and live fulfilling, productive lives. Recognise the onset of any new episode and deal with it appropriately and in a timely manner. It provides education on causes of relapse, symptom monitoring and learning to manage common stressors.
(CBT) LIVING WITH DEPRESSION: The group focus is on understanding depression, finding support and learning to practise new ways to improve coping with daily life.
CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY: The focus uses creative expression as a tool for therapeutic exploration. It can be a healthy way to reduce symptoms and to improve confidence and connection.
ENHANCING SELF ESTEEM: This group is based on the Six Pillars of Self Esteem. This has an interactive approach to life, by developing self-awareness and practicing new life skills. The focus is to build self-esteem and understand its value in one’s life.
HEALTHY RELATING/RELATIONSHIPS: The group explores and deepens peoples’ self-awareness, to assist people in understanding their boundaries. It promotes self-expression and confidence in relationships.
IMPROVE YOUR MOOD: Give yourself the opportunity to understand depression, finding support and learning that there are many things you can do to help yourself. This program uses a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Framework and helps instil hope for recovery.
LIFE SKILLS: A supportive and psycho-educational group to assist in deepening self-understanding and improving coping strategies to improve quality of life.
