Dr Paul Ng is a sessional consultant psychiatrist at Delmont Private Hospital. He is currently involved in outpatient consultations, ongoing review for medication and psychotherapy as well as in-patient admission for general psychiatric management. Paul is a specialist in psychopharmacology, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TCS), with a strong interest in providing long-term psychotherapy to appropriate patients.
Dr Ng focuses on providing holistic care to patients emphasising on both biological (medication) and psychological interventions (psychotherapy). His collaborative approach aims to co-ordinate and optimise individual patient care by liaising with GPs, psychologists, carers, family members and other health care providers.
Dr Ng graduated from the University of Melbourne and received specialist psychiatric training at the Eastern Health and St Vincent’s Hospital. Paul provides formal teaching sessions within Monash Health to medical students and psychiatric registrars. He is also an examiner and accredited supervisor for psychiatric trainees of the Royal Australian and New Zealand college of Psychiatrists.
He is dedicated to promoting mental health in the wider community by volunteering as the medical advisor to the Chinese Cancer Society of Victoria, presenting in various functions organised by other non-government organisations and has been interviewed multiple times by the SBS Radio (Cantonese) on mental health-related topics.
Dr Paul Ng is a dedicated medical professional with a comprehensive and supportive approach to patient care. Paul provides both long term follow-up to his patients and also accepts one-off consultations from GPs and other medical colleagues. He welcomes GPs and specialists to contact him for discussion prior to formal referral.
